It Is Very Important To Understand That Your Nose Changes Over Time. With Primary And Revision Rhinoplasty The Objective Is To Have Your Nose Stay Looking Good Over The Course Of Time. This Patient’s Nasal Tip Was Rotated Down For Less Nostril Show And De-projected (moved Closer To The Face). Her Tip Was Also Given A Softer Look. Surgery Required The Use Of Ear Cartilage From The Patient. This Patient Is Shown At 1 Year And 5 Years After Her Initial Revision Operation. (She Had A Minor Touch Up Procedure After The Initial Revision, So The Latest Photos Are 2.5 Years After That Procedure).

55 Year Old Woman At Time Of Surgery. The After Views Are 8 Years Post Op. She Had A Rhinoplasty For A Very Large Nose At Age 16. As Was Common In Those Days, A Lot Of Cartilage Was Removed From The Tip Of The Nose And A Lot Of Bone Removed. The Result Was A Very Flat Nose And Sharply Distorted Tip Cartilages Called Nasal Bossae. There Was Not Enough Cartilage Left In Her Septum To Be Used And Most Of The Tip Cartilage Had Been Removed. Dr. Bentkover Used Ear Cartilage To Reconstruct The Nose.

This 45 Year Old Woman Was Born With A Cleft Lip And Palate. Her Nose Had Deformities Typical For A Nose In This Situation. Not Only Is The Nose Crooked, But The Cartilages Of The Nasal Tip Are Not Symmetrical And Are Twisted. She Came To Dr. Bentkover A Number Of Years After A Previous Attempt To Make Her Nose Look More Normal. While The Out Come Of Dr. Bentkover’s Surgery Is Not Perfect, Her Nose Now Looks Much More Normal. One Of The Challenges Of This Surgery Is The “memory” Of The Previous Deformity In The Skin Of The Nasal Tip. In This Patient, Her Nostrils Are Not Quite Equal. Further Revision Could Be Done, But She Did Not Want Any Further Surgery. She Is One Of Our Happiest Patients. Post Operative Photos Are At 18 Months.
